Klapa Cambi is that dalmatian group that has received the most awards in Croatia. Their youthful energy and vivaciousness are mostly notable in their unique interpretation of the greatest hits of legendary dalmatian singers like Oliver Dragojevič and Gibonni. Their original songs have once again conquered the waves of Croatian radio stations this summer.
St. Martin's FESTIVAL in Šmartno – 13th and 14th November St. Martin's Day marks the day when the must traditionally turns to wine. The must is usually considered impure and sinful, until it is baptized and turned in to wine.In shelter of medieval walls of strengthened village Šmartno St. Martin’s festival will be organized adapted to cultural atmosphere of village. Tasting of wines from the region will take part in abandoned houses of ancient village. During daytime folk groups, brass bands and choirs will perform, an artistic exhibition will be open and a group for a dance will act in the evening.Stands with Brda products and homemade food will be placed in the narrow streets of the village. Festival Of Cherries - from 28th May to 6th June One of the biggest festival in Brda when more than 30.000 visitors from all over Slovenia, Italy and Austria join us to take part of the event FESTIVAL OF CHERRIES “Praznik češenj”.We will start to celebrate on 28th of May in a village Šmartno where we will organize an ethno atmosphere with cultural and artistic creativity to the highest point on 4th, 5th, and 6 th June in Dobrovo where cherries from all region Brda will be available. A great program with daily and evening entertainment will be provided: biking marathon from Ljubljana to Brda, a march on a Brda hills , a carriage procession with an ethnological contents, a caravan of old timer cars, Miss Cherry selection, music concerts, brass bands and choirs from all over Slovenia, Austria and Italy, folkloristic groups, theatre plays, a market stall, an agricultural mechanization market, …. Festival of wine “Brda and Vino - Šmartno 2010” 24th and 25th April A wine event where more than 30 different local wine producers will give you the opportunity to taste wine of high quality. Wine tasting will take part in old houses in medieval fortified village Šmartno.Besides wine there will be a possibility to taste other home goods from the region: olive oil, honey, dry fruits, typical “Brda” cuisine, …. For a magical atmosphere we will provide a rich pleasurable and cultural program: Opening of the artistic exhibitions, performance of folkloristic groups, popular national music groups.
